A Message from Our President
My name is Brendan Owens and I am honored to serve as the president of the Nebraska Pi Chapter of Phi Kappa Theta Fraternity. I am a junior software engineering major from Omaha, Nebraska. Prior to serving as chapter president, I have served the fraternity as technology chairman and secretary. Academically, I am a member of the Raikes School of Computer Science and Management and the University Honors Program. In addition to my involvement with the fraternity, I am involved at the Newman Center, especially through FOCUS, and work at a local agricultural-technology startup as a software developer.
Phi Kappa Theta exists to actively develop men in our five pillars—brotherhood, intellectual, social, leadership, and spiritual. The goal of our organization is to encourage the holistic development of our members to become well-rounded leaders in these areas of focus. It is our spiritual development, however, that sets our organization apart. Phi Kappa Theta has a rich Catholic history that we embrace as strive to create a brotherhood rooted in Christ. We are a group of men from different backgrounds and walks of life, yet with unified goals and values. Personally, Phi Kappa Theta has helped form me into stronger leader and man of God and I cannot thank the organization enough for its impact on my life.
